La Fondation Leenaards a décerné deux Prix scientifiques 2024 à des groupes de recherche de l’arc lémanique, pour un montant total de près de 1,4 million de francs. Le premier groupe de recherche traite de l’usage des bactériophages pour lutter contre les infections bactériennes résistantes aux antibiotiques, en particulier pour le traitement des infections respiratoires. The Leenaards Foundation has awarded two Prix Scientifiques 2024 to research groups in the Lake Geneva region, for a total of almost CHF 1.4 million. The first research group deals with the use of bacteriophages to combat antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections, particularly in the treatment of respiratory infections. The Innovation Fund for Multimedia Journalism has been expanded to 1.5 million francs. Four Swiss philanthropic foundations are behind this reinforcement: the Ernst Göhner Foundation and the Gebert Rüf Stiftung on a national scale, while the Aventinus Foundation and the Leenaards Foundation focus on supporting journalistic projects originating in French-speaking Switzerland. The Leenaards Foundation has launched its new "Towards shared health" initiative, a five-year support program (2026-2030) designed to accompany the necessary transformation of the Swiss healthcare system in the face of current and future challenges. With an annual budget of up to CHF 1,750,000, this initiative invites project organizations to think and experiment with new paradigms to ensure that the healthcare system remains accessible, high-quality, sustainable and equitable.
